On On:
How many Hashes can boast having a Lord as their GM? We feel very privilege to welcome Lord Russell as our honourable Grand Master this year.
We would also like to say a big thank you to our departing GM, who is not only grand as a Master but a grand human being who has done a grand job as our GM. Thanks a million Grand Shorty.
On On to the Run! Our beau and fit Belfitt (forgive the pun) and our no less beau Patrice, spared no effort in making sure that all the Hashers had a worthwhile and enjoyable day in Port Louis.
The On On site itself was enticing; Le Dauguet promenade, a well kept portion of road overlooking a wild forest and Signal Mountain with a well manicured shady patch of grass was our departing point.
Runners, Walkers, Whimps and Wow Wows all headed for unknown destinations. An uphill start led us into a wild forest. Uphill it remained for the major part of the trail. Some parts required legging it over. An exercise to which our ex GM is partial. "I like getting my leg over" I heard him say.
The pack stayed together until the first resting point where bench and kiosk was at our disposal. All we needed was some beer (water for me) and some sandwiches. It was also deciding time on our Hash identity; we had to decide whether we were whimps, not such a whimp or not a whimp at all. Beau Belfitt looked very concerned at that point. Being of a caring nature, he reassured us (looking in my direction) that it is OK to engage the whimp's trail. But being still the scribe, until further notice, I felt duty bound to take the plunge and go for the 'macho' bit.
More climbing awaited us through thick growths, over stumps, fallen trees and wobbly rocks. We all made it to the top completely and utterly out of breath. What an achievement!! Looking left along the path, it went up, looking right it went sharply down. That's where we went pining for Home and beer. But it wasn't going to be as near as we thought. We still had to go on for about 3 km and then through a maze of a village before ending under the bridge above which was "Home". It took us 1hr 50mins for the faster ones. Probably the longest Hash for a while!
One more leg over and we were back on the Promenade. We all took a dive for the cool box or Eski for our "Down Under friends". Many thanks to our two Hares. We forgive them for not respecting Hash rules: "Markings always on the left!!' and award them Excellence.
Lord & Master thanked Rob for sponsoring the new Hash T shirts, Sandeep for its design and Arlene for getting them printed.

RA's Down's Down's:
Our new temporary RA , Philthy stepped forward with his magic wand, (looking more like a phairy than a hasher) but with a bare torso, to deliberate.
Determined not to follow in Alan Redshirt's footsteps, he picked on women (with one or two exceptions) for punishments.
Now on to the punishments:
Tom and Tommack - they had to sing for their punishment.
Jackie - for luring the RA into a short and easy walk of 16Km! She told a joke which excused her half of her punishment.
Edwina - for not singing
Tusha - for drinking a man's drink
Vidya - for outshining the RA by getting a laugh for her (not so recent) joke.
Claudia - for denting the RA's ego and coming before him every time (on the run).
The 'girls' then decided to baptise the RA with his own medicine for being vindictive against the fair sex.
Then it was time to give the RA another taste of his own medicine.
A Down Down for him for pushing himself in the RA position then chickening out and instilling panic among the organisers only to announce that it was a false alarm. What happened to the 20 Aussies you promised to bring along?!.

A big thank you to Jaya and Merete for the delicious food. It was judged to be the best Hash grub so far. Bilkul Shukria, Gracias, Denke, Arigatoo et Merci beaucoup.

On On Scribe Coffee Mate
