Some like it long; Some like it short; Some like to run for it; Some like a walk; Some like it hot; Some like it wet; Some like to talk about it; Some just like to sit around and dream of past adventures!
Well, rest assured that no one was short changed on this trail. We set off to the sound and sight of roaring waves, through wet grass, over rocks and boulders, across rivers; in other words, all the ingredients needed to make a worthwhile trail. The downpour of the night and morning before provided the customary shiggy. Some walkers chose to trust their own instinct and opted for a “short cut” (prompted by the blazing sun) and placing all their faith in the old adage, “All roads lead to Rome”!
Well! Well! Well! OnOn and OnOn and OnOn they went towards the Two Bridges in the next village, missing the home sign, and braving a sudden shower (much welcomed by some).
When they finally got back, some hardened runners were already back at base and checking out their second beer!! Perhaps it would be worth our while to only trust those flour blobbies on the left hand side of the trail. Any other blobbies might lead us to Al Qaida. In Shalla!
As for the skivers, they had ulterior motives for staying behind; they had spotted the spinach growing on the On On site.
Anyway, around the booze crates, the trail made for the main topic of conversation. Is that Positive or Negative? You decide guys and On On to Valetta!!
RA’s Down’s Down’s:
The RA used the name of the venue, ‘La Sourdine’ meaning “Quiet” to hint for silence. But it fell on sourde (deaf) ears!
So on to the punishments:–
Anand for being too gallant (smarmy for the Brits) and helping Sybille across the river.
Geeta for being Mother duck and leading others over the walls and far away. Luckily they all came back!
Leslie not satisfied at being captain Nimo, wanted to be a Lord as well. Leave that chair home next time Leslie! Bring us some spinach quiche instead!
Smelly Blue T Shirt:
Well, it appears that it returned from Denmark but “Hot dog” apparently does not wish to be seen in it. He thought it would make a good impression on the Americans at the AGOA conference instead! Be ready Mme Haberdashery. We are expecting a huge order from Uncle Sam.
Children’s Award:
The Dodo turns out to be a yo-yo moving from Daniella to Suzie and vice versa. So guess who Daniella chose as her successor?
A big Thank You to Snow-White for doing the Hash proud again and providing another mouth watering BBQ. Thanks a million!

Valetta Hunting Park, near Quartier Militaire
From the M1 Motorway: leave the motorway at the Eau Coulee
roundabout and turn towards Quartier Militaire (B6).
After about 5.5 km from the motorway and just before the
village of Valetta, look for a track opposite the
Dagotiere-Verdun branch road. Follow the Hash Signs.
Hash style: *short*, flat and dry, some muddy places for the
runners, have mosquito repellent for some sections of the trail
in high grass.
