Mauritius Hash Trash 343

12-08-2001 Savinnia Alan Strong On & Sarah Coffee Mate #343

Held at Savinnia near Savannah. Hares Kevin (Strong On) & Sarah (Coffee mate) Grihault. A great run through superb shady, wooded farm land near “Le Souffleur”. The run was a little longer than some of our recent ones, to the satisfaction of most of the hashers. Well marked and interesting. Many thanks to the hares. Also thanks to David and Juliette for the tasty food.

Farewells Very sad farewells were said to a record number of hashers who are leaving Mauritius for good:
Helen (Dolly)
Hussein (Saddam) and Judy who have been great hashers during their stay. We will miss Saddam’s antics John and July, two stalwarts of the hash for some time. We will miss you all !!!

Next hash – Etienne & Mireille
Food-line – Rainer & Anna

Directions to next Hash, 26th August, Number 344.

The Hash will take place at the backdrop of the Corps de Garde mountain and Saint Pierre Mount, near the La Ferme reservoir.
Take the Port Louis-Bambous-Black River road A3.
From Port Louis: after the second junction to Albion (on your right) at PK 20, take the road on your left towards Mont Roches (clearly indicated).
From Bambous: take the same road towards Mont Roches on your right
After two sharp bends on this road, slow down, the Saint Martin Cemetery should be on your right, turn right immediately along the wall of the cemetery towards SODIA cattle farm (clear sign board), drive trough the cattle farm. 2 km away from the cemetery turn right at the next junction, following the “Fish Farm” sign. You will soon see the Hash Signs. On-On

Note for those familiar with the Rose Hill outskirts only : the St Martin Cemetery may be reached directly from Rose Hill as well. Alternatively there is a road running down from Stanley directly to La Ferme reservoir, around the Corps de Garde. This road arrives at the “Fish Farm” junction above.
